The work we do involves the following:
- Keeping the 10km Westville section of the M13 road reserve free from Invasive Alien Plants (IAP’s), clearing line of sight for vehicles and pedestrians, clearing gutters and picking up litter
- Creating and maintaining a suburb of tree-lined streets, indigenous plants and free of Invasive Alien Plants
- Promoting and implementing vitally important nature corridors including those connecting the Umbilo and Palmiet River Valleys via the Westville Trail and at Paradise Valley/Cowies Hill.
- Revitalsing Westville Parks, restoring the grassland, wetland and riverine habitats and creating a safe and enjoyable area for the enjoyment of families and nature lovers
- Monitoring environmental issues in Westville
- Assisting the community with gardening solutions – designing indigenous gardens
- Transforming ugly and neglected areas, removing IAP’s and planting locally indigenous plants and trees
- Growing indigenous plants in our plant depot for planting in areas being revitalised and for sale to the public
